Both you and your employer payed for your pension

The contribution is actually the price of your pension. Untill 1 july 2018 Staples withholded your part of the pension contribution from your salary.  The contribution paid by the employer was not shown on your salary statement. Ask you employer how much contribution they paid for your pension at Pension Fund Staples.
